Dear Child of God,
Since Monday we have begun a journey to break the spirit of singleness. But when it comes to dealing with this spirit, it’s not just about prayer but about practical application. You can go on a prayer marathon, you can fast for weeks, but if you don’t change your behaviours then you are going to continue to have issues where your relationships are concerned. Prayer is important but at the end of the day you are going to have to take action.
What we’ve been learning these past couple days is about stopping the spirit of singleness from derailing your marriage. When you begin to understand the languages of love, you can build a fool-proof marriage.
We saw how Rebekah secured a lasting legacy for herself, when all other woman missed out on the opportunity, she won Isaac’s heart by learning to speak his language. Even later when Abimelech tried to take her as his own wife, they protected their marriage through speaking each other’s language.
Last night we discovered how Ruth, a foreigner in the land of Israel, won the heart of Boaz by speaking his language. But it’s not what you think.
You see men and woman are moved by different things. One needs encouragement while another needs to be showered with gifts. One needs you to take care of what matters to them while another just wants to be touched. Others don’t care about any of that as long as you can spend time with them. You have to know what you are looking for and you have to know what your partners needs.
But if you keep trying to give somebody what they are not asking for, they will never interpret that as love.
So what is your Love Language? What is your partners Love Language? And how can you interpret them so you can best put them into practise? Today I have a special quiz for you, it only takes about one minute, and this is going to help you understand your language of love or even the language of your partner so that you don’t have to keep living in ignorance. By beginning to speak the right language, you can secure lasting love that will be impossible to break.
